The emphasis has always been on producing the best quality results. This takes a great deal of time, careful attention and skill. Now and then someone will ask, \u201cWhy bother?\u201d This is why:<\/p>\n<p>In converting an original 78-rpm record to CD, the stylus may skip one revolution. Although this can often be corrected, why bother?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First, the client wanted the\u00a0<em>entire<\/em>record preserved, not just part of it.<\/li>\n<li>And second, no one has ever asked for less than the best effort in the handling of their materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Converting an original videotape to disk requires using a computer to digitize the content of the tape. Since the tape could actually be transferred directly to disk more quickly, why bother making the extra effort?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The digital video file provides\u00a0<em>control,<\/em>and allows deleting unwanted material and adjusting picture quality.<\/li>\n<li>Additional copies may be made without further wear on the original tape.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Commercial photo services may work at a\u00a0<em>low<\/em>\u00a0level of resolution (clarity) that allows faster results. Why try to do better than that?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First,\u00a0<em>high<\/em>resolution processing produces better results, with details rendered more clearly.<\/li>\n<li>And second,\u00a0<em>high<\/em>resolution also allows retouching options down to the size of a single hair.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Restauranteur Bob Evans said,\u00a0<em>\u201cWe do it right \u2013 or we don\u2019t do it!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the policy here, as well.<\/p>\n<p>Your old audiotapes, videos and photos are important.
